Winter Weather for HGV Drivers
Many road users including HGV drivers have been warned to check and be aware of the weather conditions when out on the roads. The main reason for this warning is to help prevent an accident occurring. This warning has been issued as part of a Police report. It is important to ensure your vehicle is insured and not just through the winter months when the chances or an accident are increased.
In bad weather more consideration needs to be given to other road users. All motorists need to allow much more stopping time when driving in adverse weather conditions as it can take much, much longer for a vehicle any size to slow down or stop.
Another warning that has been issued to drivers, during the adverse weather conditions, is not to leave your engines running when the vehicle is unoccupied, for example, on frosty mornings to clear your vehicle before leaving for work. This is putting the vehicle at risk of theft and if the vehicle was taken there is a strong possibility that the insurer would not pay out for the claim as leaving a vehicle running occupied can make your policy null and void. This on the whole will raise the cost of insurance policies and insurers need to cover the cost of such claims should they be paid out for, as some insurers will consider paying out providing the vehicle was on your property and in your sight at all times although this is a grey area.
Workwear
Employ Recruitment is pleased to announce we have introduced a range of quality work-wear, available to all of our drivers. Compromising of a black short-sleeved polo shirt, a black long sleeved sweat-shirt both with our company logo stitched onto the front. Also, high quality black work trousers with easy accessible pockets on the legs. All are machine washable. Uniforms can be collected from DHL Sainsbury's on a Tuesday from Kate or from our office any-time. Payment is only currently acceptable in cash or by deduction from your net wages.
