CAMPAIGNS

The safety and wellbeing of our drivers is of the upmost importance to us, over the years we’ve observed the continued challenges of driving on busy roads across the UK and the impact this can have on our drivers.  We’ve also listened to feedback regarding your needs and where possible adapted our service to give you more flexibility and shifts. We’ve produced a series of campaigns to help you drive safely and look after your own wellbeing; these include some practical tips and some insights into driving behaviour. If you’d like to automatically receive our latest campaign, you can subscribe here.

ON THE ROAD TO BETTER HEALTH

The state of your health and wellbeing will undoubtedly impact on your standard of driving and ultimate safety. Extreme fatigue, hunger and stress are major triggers which may have a critical impact on your driving reaction and behaviour. This campaign provides awareness and insights into various wellbeing indicators, click here to find out more.

ON THE ROAD TO BETTER SAFETY

To improve road safety, we need to focus on those factors that contribute most to motor vehicle crashes. Driver behaviour is most often the critical reason for a motor vehicle crash.  Our 100% compliance process forms the foundation of our safety culture. Awareness, education and training our the pillars in which we strengthen our safety pledge. Our safety campaigns focus on the root causes of accidents and aim to introduce prevention measures, click here to find out more.

 ONLINE COMMUNITY

As part of its commitment to customer service and the freight sector, National Highways has recently launched an online community for professional drivers. The portal gives drivers the opportunity to provide feedback to National Highways that will be used to help improve the experience on England’s motorways and major A roads – take part in online research and earn up to £40 in rewards!   Find out more and join by clicking here.

NATIONAL SAFETY WEEK

Road Safety Week is an annual campaign, organised by Brake, the road safety charity, each year we support awareness with a week of carefully narrated messages to our drivers.  We circulate our library of resource, which includes a mixture of awareness prompts, educational guides and general tips on wellbeing, with all registered drivers.  Click here to read our National Safety Week Newsletter

ACCIDENT PREVENTION

This guide shares best practise for accident prevention as well as crucial prevention tips to improve driver safety and reduce accidents. One of the biggest causes of HGV related accidents is the driver losing control of the vehicle; SLAM is an accident prevention technique which we recommend to our drivers – it’s simple, clear and very effective!

TELEMATICS

Telematics records information about your driving behaviour, including how fast you drive, how fast you brake and the distance you drive. It’s another driver awareness tool to improve driver safety and trigger awareness of behaviour. We train most of our drivers with telematics and describe the core elements within this guide.

EXCELLENCE SERVICE

We regularly seek feedback from our clients to identify areas of improvement, no matter how marginal the refinement; it all helps to deliver a better service. We’ve developed some very simple and basic practices, which together formulate a route to deliver excellence.

DRIVING CONNECTIONS

We like to keep connected to our drivers. Our bi-monthly newsletter is popular, highlighting key messages and announcing driver of the month!
